In Saturday's non-league outing, the Austin Mustangs (Houston, TX) basketball squad nipped the host Sharpstown Apollos (Houston, TX), by a margin of 55-49.

The Mustangs (7-11) will now prepare for their outing against Milby (Houston, TX). The Buffs go into the 5A Region III District 19 outing with a 8-12 record.

The Apollos now own a 4-17 record. They play next when they travel to Waltrip for a 5A Region III District 19 outing on Monday, January 8. Sharpstown will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 74-59 non-league loss to St. Pius X (Houston, TX). The Rams record now stands at 4-8.
