The Clifton Central Comets basketball team (Clifton, IL), was nudged 47-44 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL)

The Tigers now possess a 3-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Manteno for a Illinois Central 8 battle on Friday, January 5. Herscher will confront a Panthers team coming off a 51-48 non-league win over St. Anne (St. Anne, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 12-4.

The Comets (11-5) will now prepare for their battle against Donovan (Donovan, IL). The Wildcats come into the River Valley battle with a 5-9 record. In their last battle, Donovan was nudged by Momence (Momence, IL), 46-40, in a non-league battle.
