The Clifton Central Comets basketball team (Clifton, IL), was nudged 71-66 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL)

The Tigers now possess a 5-20 record. They put it on the line next when they host Manteno for a Illinois Central 8 battle on Friday, February 9. Herscher will battle a Panthers team coming off a 45-36 league win over Coal City (Coal City, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 23-4.

The Comets (17-10) will now prepare for their battle against St. Anne (St. Anne, IL). The Cardinals come into the non-league battle with a 14-12 record. In their last battle, St. Anne was nudged by Westmont (Westmont, IL), 52-43, in a non-league battle.
