De Smet Jesuit Spartans (St. Louis, MO) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Vianney Golden Griffins (Kirkwood, MO), 63-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, De Smet Jesuit upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Spartans host Webster Groves (Webster Groves, MO) to play the Statesmen in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 30. The Statesmen go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Webster Groves won 53-50 in their recent non-league bout against Hickman (Columbia, MO)

Next up, the Golden Griffins play the Hickman Kewpies (Columbia, MO) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 30. Vianney will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record. The Kewpies go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 53-50 non-league loss to Webster Groves (Webster Groves, MO).
