Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS), 71-70 in a league bout.

With the victory, Southeast Lauderdale upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Enterprise (Enterprise, MS) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 7-8. Enterprise lost 55-47 in their recent non-league bout against Richton (Richton, MS)

Next up, the Wildcats play the McLaurin Tigers (Florence, MS) in a 3A Region 5 bout, on Friday, January 5. Kemper County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 12-7 record after their 42-39 non-league win over Seminary (Seminary, MS).
