    • Ohio High School Basketball - Vermilion nips Port Clinton

    December 29, 2023: Vermilion, OH 44089

    Vermilion Sailors (Vermilion, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Port Clinton Redskins (Port Clinton, OH), 45-42 in a league bout.

    With the win, Vermilion upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Sailors host Black River (Sullivan, OH) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 1-7. Black River lost 75-70 in their recent non-league bout against Hillsdale (Jeromesville, OH)

    Next up, the Redskins play the Woodmore Wildcats (Elmore, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 30. Port Clinton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 60-42 non-league loss to Edison (Milan, OH).
