Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Vermilion Sailors (Vermilion, OH) and the host Port Clinton Redskins (Port Clinton, OH), saw Vermilion's basketball squad hold off Port Clinton by a tally of 54-52.

With the victory, Vermilion improves its record to 5-14 on the campaign. The Sailors travel to Steele (Amherst, OH) to confront the Comets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 8-11. Steele won 51-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Firelands (Oberlin, OH)

Next up, the Redskins confront the Clyde Fliers (Clyde, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 10. Port Clinton will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Fliers come into the challenge with a 5-14 record after their 81-73 league loss to Sandusky (Sandusky, OH).
