Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Stratford Spartans (Houston, TX) and the host Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos (Missouri City, TX), saw Stratford's basketball squad knock off Fort Bend Marshall by a tally of 45-32.

With the victory, Stratford improves its record to 12-8 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Cypress Ridge (Houston, TX) to play the Rams in a 6A Region III District 17 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 11-10.

Next up, the Buffalos play the Foster Falcons (Richmond, TX) in a 5A Region III District 20 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Fort Bend Marshall will attempt to improve on its 9-10 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 13-10 record after their 56-52 non-league win over Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX).
