In Friday's non-league outing, the Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS) basketball squad edged the visiting Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS), by a count of 39-32.

The Wildcats (7-5) will now prepare for their outing against McLaurin (Florence, MS). The Tigers go into the 3A Region 5 outing with a 2-13 record. In their last outing, McLaurin was tipped by Seminary (Seminary, MS), 41-37, in a non-league outing.

The Tigers now hold a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Enterprise for a 3A Region 5 outing on Tuesday, January 2. Southeast Lauderdale will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 43-40 non-league win over Richton (Richton, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-8.
