Crestwood Comets (Mountain Top, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Wyoming Valley West Spartans (Plymouth, PA), 61-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Crestwood upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Comets host Pittston (Pittston, PA) to clash with the Patriots in a Wyoming Valley 1 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Pittston lost 30-29 in their recent non-league bout against Old Forge (Old Forge, PA)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Dallas Mountaineers (Dallas, PA) in a Wyoming Valley 1 bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Wyoming Valley West will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record.
