Rio Hondo Bobcats (Rio Hondo, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Lyford Bulldogs (Lyford, TX), 66-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Rio Hondo upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Progreso (Progreso, TX) to play the Red Ants in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Red Ants go into the bout with a record of 18-7. Progreso won 42-35 in their recent league bout against IDEA Weslaco Pike (Weslaco, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Harvest Christian Saints (Watauga, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 9. Lyford will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record.
