Westmoreland Eagles (Montross, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Rappahannock Raiders (Warsaw, VA), 59-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Westmoreland upgrades its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Sussex Central (Sussex, VA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 4-4. Sussex Central won 55-41 in their recent league bout against Surry County (Dendron, VA)

Next up, the Raiders play the Mountain View Wildcats (Stafford, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Rappahannock will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 75-41 non-league win over Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA).
