Holy Cross Indians (Covington, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds (Newport, KY), 64-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Holy Cross upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Indians travel to Conner (Hebron, KY) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 3-8. Conner lost 61-50 in their recent non-league bout against Elder (Cincinnati, OH)

Next up, the Thoroughbreds clash with the Beechwood Tigers (Fort Mitchell, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Newport Central Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record.
