Latexo Tigers (Latexo, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Slocum Mustangs (Elkhart, TX), 49-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Latexo upgrades its record to 8-12 on the season. The Tigers travel to Kerens (Kerens, TX) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 7-5. Kerens won 53-45 in their recent non-league bout against Italy (Italy, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Kennard Tigers (Kennard, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Slocum will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 77-45 non-league loss to Lampasas (Lampasas, TX).
