The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) and the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), observed Coronado's basketball team overcome Lubbock by a margin of 58-44.

The Mustangs (5-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Rebels come into the 5A Region I District 3 challenge with a 13-7 record. In their last challenge, Tascosa dropped by Palo Duro (Amarillo, TX), 60-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Westerners battle the Plainview Bulldogs (Plainview, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 challenge, on Friday, January 3. Lubbock will attempt to better on its 8-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 67-48 league win over Caprock (Amarillo, TX).
