In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Lufkin Panthers basketball team scored a close 59-55 win over the Mt. Pleasant Tigers.

The Panthers (23-2) will now prepare for their contest against Marshall (Marshall, TX). The Mavericks come into the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Marshall was tipped by Jacksonville (Jacksonville, TX), 48-40, in a league contest.
