King Mustangs (Corpus Christi, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Gregory-Portland Wildcats (Portland, TX), 83-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, King upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Victoria West (Victoria, TX) to clash with the Warriors in a 5A Region IV District 29 bout on Tuesday, December 7. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 2-3. Victoria West lost 63-58 in their recent non-league bout against Martin (Laredo, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles (Corpus Christi, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, December 7. Gregory-Portland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 63-53 non-league win over Ray (Corpus Christi, TX).
