The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Bethel Bruins (Hampton, VA) and the host Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA), observed Bethel's basketball team overwhelm Menchville by a score of 61-25.

The Bruins (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Woodside (Newport News, VA). The Wolverines come into the Peninsula challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Woodside trounced Phoebus (Hampton, VA), 91-37, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Monarchs battle the Warwick Raiders (Newport News, VA) in a Peninsula challenge, on Tuesday, December 10. Menchville will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 70-53 non-league loss to Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA).
