In Tuesday's league outing, the Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) basketball squad overwhelmed the host East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS), by a margin of 73-30.

The Cougars (6-3) will now prepare for their outing against Winston Academy (Louisville, MS). The Patriots go into the MAIS 5A District 2 outing with a 1-1 record. In their last outing, Winston Academy smashed Lamar (Meridian, MS), 53-52, in a league outing.

The Patriots now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Park Place Christian Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 outing on Friday, December 9. East Rankin Academy will encounter a Crusaders squad coming off a 58-24 non-league win over Mississippi School for the Deaf (Jackson, MS). The Crusaders record now stands at 8-5.
