Newman Catholic Knights (Mason City, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Nashua-Plainfield Huskies (Nashua, IA), 60-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newman Catholic upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Knights host West Fork (Sheffield, IA) to clash with the Warhawks in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Warhawks go into the bout with a record of 4-0. West Fork won 62-30 in their recent league bout against Northwood-Kensett (Northwood, IA)

Next up, the Huskies clash with the Rockford Warriors (Rockford, IA) in a Corn Bowl bout, on Thursday, December 8. Nashua-Plainfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 59-24 non-league loss to North Iowa (Buffalo Center, IA).
