Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 60-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst County upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Lancers travel to Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Seminole bout on Thursday, December 7. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Liberty Christian lost 49-40 in their recent non-league bout against Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA)

Next up, the Governors clash with the Stuarts Draft Cougars (Stuarts Draft, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Nelson County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 49-28 non-league win over Monticello (Charlottesville, VA).
