The Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), 40-24 in Wednesday's league test.

The Maroon Devils (1-2) will now prepare for their test against Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Bobcats go into the non-league test with a 0-6 record. In their last test, Blue Ridge Early College went down by Asheville Trailblazers (Asheville, NC), 56-35, in a non-league test.

The Highlanders now own a 0-7 record. They play next when they host Robbinsville for a 1A Smoky Mountain test on Friday, December 8. Highlands will encounter a Black Knights squad coming off a 57-43 non-league win over Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 2-0.
