Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Smackover Buckaroos (Smackover, AR), 57-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Drew Central upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Pirates travel to Harmony Grove (Camden, AR) to clash with the Hornets in a 3A Region 8 bout on Saturday, December 10. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Buckaroos clash with the Bearden Bears (Bearden, AR) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Smackover will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 62-44 league loss to Nevada (Rosston, AR).
