Grafton Bearcats (Grafton, WV) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Liberty Mountaineers (Clarksburg, WV), 57-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Grafton upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bearcats host Riverside (Belle, WV) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Riverside lost 63-47 in their recent non-league bout against Philip Barbour (Philippi, WV)

Next up, the Mountaineers clash with the Wayne Pioneers (Wayne, WV) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 10. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 75-56 non-league win over Wahama (Mason, WV).
