Match Summary
While we held the Dolphins nicely in check for the first 20 minutes, they were able to slip in their first score on a well-placed corner kick with 16 to go in the half. The clincher came 6 minutes later on a shot that was out of Ava's grasp, and we found ourselves in a 2-nil deficit at the half. Five minutes into the second, Juliana, earning Player of the Game for the second time, had our best look (and only shot on goal) as she dribbled close in on an open net for a good shot that was deflected just before hitting home. A Kalei free kick had a chance, but went wide, and Ava kept them at a doublet with a terrific leaping save (the last of her 5 total stops) of a shot high overhead with 3 minutes remaining. We played well, just couldn't get much going on offense.
