Thrasher Rebels (Booneville, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wheeler Eagles (Wheeler, MS), 66-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Thrasher upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Rebels travel to Tremont (Tremont, MS) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region 1 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Tremont won 43-41 in their recent non-league bout against Hatley (Amory, MS)

Next up, the Eagles play the Blue Mountain Cougars (Blue Mountain, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Wheeler will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 59-35 non-league loss to East Webster (Maben, MS).
