Bluejacket Chieftains (Bluejacket, OK) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Welch Wildcats (Welch, OK), 40-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bluejacket upgrades its record to 1-5 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Cedar Vale/Dexter (Cedar Vale, KS) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 2-1. Cedar Vale/Dexter won 44-32 in their recent non-league bout against Barnsdall (Barnsdall, OK)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Quapaw Wildcats (Quapaw, OK) in a Lucky Seven bout, on Monday, December 11. Welch will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 6-0 record after their 52-31 non-league win over South Coffeyville (South Coffeyville, OK).
