The Washburn Castle Guards basketball team scored 39 points and held the visiting Mercer Tigers to 27 in the Castle Guards league triumph on Friday.

The Castle Guards now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Solon Springs for a Northern Lights contest on Tuesday, December 12. Washburn will meet a Eagles team coming off a 67-48 league loss to South Shore (Port Wing, WI). The Eagles record now stands at 1-2.

The Tigers (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Butternut (Butternut, WI). The Midgets enter the Northern Lights contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Butternut ran past Mellen (Mellen, WI), 60-46, in a league contest.
