Hatton Hornets (Town Creek, AL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Tharptown Wildcats (Russellville, AL), 73-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hatton upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Lexington (Lexington, AL) to play the Golden Bears in a 2A Area 16 bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Golden Bears come into the bout with a record of 0-2. Lexington lost 68-53 in their recent non-league bout against Athens Bible (Athens, AL)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Lindsay Lane Christian Academy (Athens, AL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Tharptown will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record.
