The East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) basketball crushed the host Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI), 61-35 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Townies (1-0) will now prepare for their test against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI). The Avengers go into the Division 1 test with a 0-2 record. In their last test, East Greenwich was trounced by La Salle Academy (Providence, RI), 57-38, in a league test.
The Panthers now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Mt. Hope for a Division 2 test on Thursday, December 14. Johnston will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 57-41 league loss to Tolman (Pawtucket, RI). The Huskies record now stands at 0-2.
