The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Minersville Battlin' Miners (Minersville, PA) and the visiting Blue Mountain Eagles (Schuylkill Haven, PA), observed Minersville's basketball team edge Blue Mountain by a score of 53-49.

The Battlin' Miners (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Pottsville (Pottsville, PA). The Crimson Tide come into the Schuylkill County 1 challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, Pottsville edged Tamaqua (Tamaqua, PA), 64-59, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Tamaqua Blue Raiders (Tamaqua, PA) in a Schuylkill County 1 challenge, on Thursday, December 12. Blue Mountain will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
