The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Malden Green Wave (Malden, MO) and the visiting Holcomb Hornets (Holcomb, MO), observed Malden's basketball team knock off Holcomb by a score of 49-30.

The Green Wave (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against South Pemiscot (Steele, MO). The Bulldogs come into the Bootheel challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, South Pemiscot was knocked off by Scott County Central (Sikeston, MO), 68-35, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets encounter the East Carter Redbirds (Ellsinore, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 16. Holcomb will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
