Grossmont Foothillers (El Cajon, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA), 59-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Grossmont upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Foothillers travel to El Capitan (Lakeside, CA) to play the Vaqueros in a Grossmont - Hills bout on Wednesday, February 2. The Vaqueros go into the bout with a record of 7-17. El Capitan won 54-38 in their recent non-league bout against La Jolla (La Jolla, CA)

Next up, the Monarchs play the Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) in a Grossmont - Hills bout, on Friday, February 4. Monte Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 10-14 season record. The Highlanders go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 80-29 league loss to Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA).
