Iroquois Chiefs (Elma, NY) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY), 49-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Iroquois upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Chiefs travel to Sweet Home (Amherst, NY) to play the Panthers in a Section 6 Erie County II bout on Friday, February 3. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-15. Sweet Home lost 51-30 in their recent league bout against Hamburg (Hamburg, NY)

Next up, the Spartans play the Williamsville South Billies (Williamsville, NY) in a Section 6 Erie County II bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Starpoint will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Billies go into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 67-49 non-league win over East Aurora (East Aurora, NY).
