The Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls basketball team scored 70 points and held the visiting Asbury Park Bishops to 31 in the Garnet Gulls league triumph on Thursday.

The Garnet Gulls now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Matawan Regional for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 3. Point Pleasant Beach will battle a Huskies team coming off a 69-44 non-league win over Long Branch (Long Branch, NJ). The Huskies record now stands at 8-11.

The Bishops (1-16) will now prepare for their contest against Wardlaw Hartridge (Edison, NJ). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 0-18 record. In their last contest, Wardlaw Hartridge was routed by Timothy Christian (Piscataway, NJ), 73-45, in a league contest.
