Maryville Christian Lions (Maryville, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Dupo Tigers (Dupo, IL), 50-28 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Maryville Christian upgrades its record to 4-21 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL) to play the Griffins in a Gateway bout on Friday, February 2. The Griffins come into the bout with a record of 8-17. Father McGivney Catholic lost 67-64 in their recent league bout against Christ Our Rock Lutheran (Centralia, IL)

Next up, the Tigers play the New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) in a Cahokia - Kaskaskia bout, on Friday, February 2. Dupo will attempt to upgrade on its 0-15 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a 10-13 record after their 48-33 non-league loss to Sparta (Sparta, IL).
