Franklin Broncos (Franklin, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 67-65 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Franklin upgrades its record to 14-8 on the season. The Broncos travel to Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA) to play the Dragons in a Tri-Rivers bout on Friday, February 2. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 0-18. Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech lost 54-38 in their recent league bout against Windsor (Windsor, VA)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Great Bridge Wildcats (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern bout, on Friday, February 2. Lakeland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 3-15 record after their 62-28 league loss to Indian River (Chesapeake, VA).
