Leake County Gators (Walnut Grove, MS) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Taylorsville Tartars (Taylorsville, MS), 65-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Leake County upgrades its record to 13-13 on the campaign. The Gators host Leake Central (Carthage, MS) to play the Gators in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Gators come into the bout with a record of 9-13. Leake Central lost 87-66 in their recent league bout against Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS)
