The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Meade Buffaloes (Meade, KS) and the host Kiowa County Mavericks (Greensburg, KS), observed Meade's basketball team overwhelm Kiowa County by a margin of 61-39.

The Buffaloes (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Hodgeman County (Jetmore, KS). The Longhorns come into the Southern Plains-Iroquois challenge with a 11-4 record. In their last challenge, Hodgeman County trounced Spearville (Spearville, KS), 49-45, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mavericks battle the South Central Timberwolves (Coldwater, KS) in a Southern Plains-Iroquois challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Kiowa County will attempt to better on its 10-4 season record. The Timberwolves come into the challenge with a 15-0 record after their 50-46 non-league win over South Gray (Montezuma, KS).
