The Cumberland Clippers basketball team scored 68 points and held the host Cranston East Thunderbolts to 53 in the Clippers league triumph on Friday.
The Clippers now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Portsmouth for a State Championship contest on Tuesday, February 14. Cumberland will battle a Patriots team coming off a 79-46 league loss to Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI). The Patriots record now stands at 10-8.
The Thunderbolts (7-13) will now prepare for their contest against Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI). The Hawks enter the State Championship contest with a 16-3 record. In their last contest, Bishop Hendricken ran past Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI), 79-46, in a league contest.
