Ellington Knights (Ellington, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Somers Spartans (Somers, CT), 46-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Ellington upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Knights travel to Suffield (West Suffield, CT) to clash with the Wildcats in a North Central Connecticut bout on Saturday, February 11. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 11-5. Suffield won 67-57 in their recent league bout against East Granby (East Granby, CT)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Windsor Locks Raiders (Windsor Locks, CT) in a North Central Connecticut bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Somers will attempt to upgrade on its 12-7 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 56-31 league win over Rockville (Vernon, CT).
