In Friday's league outing, the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Loop Longhorns (Loop, TX), by a margin of 75-25.

The Mustangs (16-15) will now prepare for their outing against Wellman-Union (Wellman, TX). The Wildcats go into the 1A Region I District 8 outing with a 1-13 record. In their last outing, Wellman-Union was trounced by Klondike (Lamesa, TX), 65-22, in a league outing.

The Longhorns now own a 6-16 record. They play next when they host Dawson for a 1A Region I District 8 outing on Tuesday, February 14. Loop will clash with a Dragons squad coming off a 74-10 league loss to Sands (Ackerly, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 2-14.
