In Saturday's non-league outing, the Cobden Appleknockers (Cobden, IL) basketball squad edged the visiting Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers (Joppa, IL), by a margin of 40-33.
The Appleknockers (8-18) will now prepare for their outing against Goreville (Goreville, IL). The Blackcats go into the non-league outing with a 22-9 record. In their last outing, Goreville held off Sesser-Valier/Waltonville (Sesser, IL), 51-34, in a league outing.
The Rangers now own a 5-19 record.
