In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Mayo Spartans basketball team scored a big 79-58 triumph over the Winona Winhawks.
The Spartans (16-6) will now prepare for their contest against Mankato East (Mankato, MN). The Cougars go into the non-league contest with a 21-1 record. In their last contest, Mankato East trounced Faribault (Faribault, MN), 89-57, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Winhawks encounter the Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 14. Winona will attempt to improve on its 3-20 season record. The Scarlets come into the challenge with a 7-14 record after their 73-64 non-league win over Austin (Austin, MN).
