The Liberty Mountaineers (Clarksburg, WV) basketball nipped the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Clarksburg, WV), 46-40 in Monday's non-league test.
The Mountaineers (8-12) will now prepare for their test against Lincoln (Shinnston, WV). The Cougars go into the Big Ten test with a 7-11 record. In their last test, Lincoln was tipped by Hampshire (Romney, WV), 61-33, in a non-league test.
The Fighting Irish now own a 2-16 record. They play next when they travel to Wheeling Central Catholic for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 14. Notre Dame will encounter a Maroon Knights squad coming off a 64-50 league loss to Shenandoah (Sarahsville, OH). The Maroon Knights record now stands at 10-9.
