In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball squad felled the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a margin of 43-29.

The Pioneers (16-1) will now prepare for their outing against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league outing with a 7-10 record. In their last outing, Ashe County thwarted South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 44-30, in a non-league outing.

The Patriots now own a 6-8 record. They play next when they travel to Alexander Central for a non-league outing on Friday, February 16. Freedom will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 45-22 non-league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 17-1.
