The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds (Mahnomen, MN) and the visiting Red Lake County Central Mustangs (Oklee, MN), observed Mahnomen/Waubun's basketball team overwhelm Red Lake County Central by a score of 57-35.

The Thunderbirds (13-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Pelican Rapids (Pelican Rapids, MN). The Vikings come into the non-league challenge with a 18-5 record. In their last challenge, Pelican Rapids trounced Frazee (Frazee, MN), 60-56, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Polk County West [Climax/Fisher] Knights (Climax, MN) in a A Section 8 challenge, on Saturday, February 15. Red Lake County Central will attempt to improve on its 9-9 season record.
