West Virginia High School Basketball - Winfield nips Nitro

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) and the host Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV), observed Winfield's basketball team edge Nitro by a score of 44-39.

The Generals (13-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Logan (Logan, WV). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 9-9 record. In their last battle, Logan tipped Williamstown (Williamstown, WV), 62-41, in a non-league battle.

The Wildcats now own a 10-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cabell Midland for a non-league battle on Monday, February 16. Nitro will meet a Knights squad coming off a 60-50 league win over Spring Valley (Huntington, WV). The Knights record now stands at 8-9.
