Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Van Vleck Leopards (Van Vleck, TX) and the host Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX), saw Van Vleck's basketball squad hold off Brazos by a tally of 45-40.

With the victory, Van Vleck improves its record to 16-10 on the campaign.

Next up, the Cougars confront the Boling Bulldogs (Boling, TX) in a 3A Region III District 24 challenge, on Friday, February 17. Brazos will attempt to improve on its 14-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 14-11 record after their 103-52 league loss to Hitchcock (Hitchcock, TX).
