In Tuesday's league outing, the Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) basketball squad edged the visiting Thomaston Bears (Thomaston, CT), by a count of 53-52.

The Spartans (12-7) will now prepare for their outing against Gilbert (Winsted, CT). The Yellowjackets go into the Berkshire outing with a 10-11 record. In their last outing, Gilbert was tipped by Wamogo Regional (Litchfield, CT), 61-51, in a league outing.

The Bears now hold a 5-15 record. They play next when they travel to Housatonic-Wamogo for a non-league outing on Friday, February 17. Thomaston will clash with a Mountaineers squad coming off a 86-46 non-league loss to Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT). The Mountaineers record now stands at 0-16.
